Latta holds Sixth Grade Science Fair

Anonymous Evening News The Evening News Fri Feb 25, 2011, 07:52 AM CST Latta — The Latta Sixth Grade Elementary Science Fair was held Jan. 31. Students labored on individual science projects. The projects helped the students learn the true meaning of each step of the Scientific Method. Each student presented his project to judges, and then to all of the elementary classes. All students in sixth grade received a participation ribbon. Two other opportunities for students to receive awards were available. One area was based on the ability of the project to move on to Regionals, and the other area was based on quality of the project overall experiment, board presentation, knowledge of project. A Presentation Award was given to Antwain Primm. This was given based on the quality, knowledge, and friendliness of the presentation. The students are listed below that will be attending Regionals, which will be held in at East Central University in March. Dustin West, Matison Worcester, Maebree Abney, Tagan Bates, Coleman King, Zac Watson, Ben Anderson, Hanah West, Taylor Bates, Bailee McCurdy, Taw Sherrell, Austin Ellenberg, and Sam Quick. Students who received metals based on the quality of over all project are: First place Coleman King, second place Matison Worcester, third place Maebree Abney, fourth place Dustin West, fifth place Zac Watson, sixth place Breanna Snider, seventh place Tagan Bates, eight place Taylor Bates, ninth place Maria Priest and 10th place Bailee McCurdy.
