Students compete in national contest

IRON MOUNTAIN — Students at Iron Mountain High School have entered a video in the Ford Focus on Schools Project.

By creating video advertising for the 2012 Ford Focus, the school received $500, with a chance to win up to $10,000.

The students focused on Ford’s history in Kingsford, and how it changed the company.

Students say the money could be used to improve the program and set it apart.

“It would mean a lot,” says Iron Mountain senior Ben Schiavo.  “We’d like some better cameras, a lot of them are kind of breaking and they’re getting old. We could upgrade the cameras.”

“It shows that we’re willing to give that push to put ourselves out there because we’re that confident in ourselves,” adds Iron Mountain senior David Sam.
