Grimes captures title in Challenge Cup golf
CRANSTON – Portsmouth High’s Alex Grimes captured the individual title in the 29th annual Challenge Cup High School Golf Championship held Monday and Tuesday at the Alpine Country Club.
Grimes, the Patriots junior All-Stater, combined rounds of 72-75 for a 36-hole total of 147 and a one-stroke victory over Cumberland High’s Jamison Randall. Thayer Academy’s Jack Bandera finished third with 152.
